Building the Force

What it takes to build a strong defense force ? a reliable, dependable and yet economical army, navy and air force ?

The answer might be as simple as “willingness”. Indonesia (RI) is blessed with talents, brain and resource to invent and create a lot of things. But when it comes to determination we are big zero.

I think this is the reason why RI Armed Forces, familiarly named TNI, was one force that has lost its respected power and eventually reputation. Just have a glance on its inventory lists, embarrassing at the very least and joke at the worst..

Now if you are a country’s defense chief, or president, what will you do with your armed force, how will you re strength it, how will you make it respected, and how you make it work.

In the next couple of post, I will try to create my dream armed force, one that I think is ideal in the most sensible manner. I will take into account common factors such us budget limitation, history and geographical limitation, while at the same time I will made deliberate assumption and rather liberal interpretation of bugget limitation.

Enjoy !
