Jakarta Traffic Jam

Those who lives in Jakarta must be familiar with these conditions:

- Traffic jam at most unpredicted time
- Traffic jam at most unpredictad place
- Traffic jam at most unpredited days

Back to 5 years ago, it took me only 30 minutes to drive from my suburbs east of Jakarta to the Jl. Sudirman, 30 minutes to my uni at Jl. Salemba, 30 minutes to Kelapa Gading Mal, and pretty much 30 minutes to anywhere withing the 30 km radius. Today, if I’m lucky enough, it takes me at the very least an hour, and if I’m in really deep shit - 2 hours

No matter how hard you try to manage your time, at the end you are at the mercy of 2 million other Jakarta road users. On this my boss give me a very good advice, always prepare 2 hours before your schedule, no less.

The question that worth the golden answer is WHAT ON EARTH IS WRONG WITH THE JAKARTA

The expert said…everything….means..almost everything that we have at Jakarta road is wrong, inefficient and unreliable. Here are some of the list:
- Terrible road surface
- Unrully road users…that includes private cars, public transport, motorbike and the police it self
- Stupidly build bottle neck all over Jakarta
- Ignorant police officers (not every police officers off course)
- Busway
- Inefficient traffic management (including unnecessary 3in1, bad planned trafic lights, unnecessary road block, etc)
- Inefficient public transport facilities
- You name it

And trust me, this list is not exhaustive enough.

Now I think, everyone pretty much agree with the problems. So how to fix it ?
